There are million of refugee children who are living without their parents. But there parents are still alive. The problem nobody knows where they are, and the parents don't know where their children are. I lived for more then four years in Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya at the border with Ethiopia, South Sudan, documenting unaccompanied minors. Most of the children are from South Sudan or Somalia. For and with teenagers in Kakuma we created an mobile app, an app that can find back their parents. After testing and when we had a proof of concept we donated and handed over the app the the International Committee of the Red Cross. The app is free to use. They will take it over and spread it further, not only in the horn of Africa but over the world. I mainly want to enter this competition to bring the issue of unaccompanied minors in the spotlight. And yes, also to see if I can take some decent pictures after all.
