Watergarden

Water and landscape are recurring themes in my work, and a trip to Antarctica in 2007 was pivotal. In subsequent projects, the transparent, shape-shifting nature of icebergs was painted as portraits and drawn as body parts (Iceworks, 2008). Their transient qualities were explored via an edible installation (Dessert Wastes, 2009). Polar landscapes became the improbable setting for social dining, (World’s End Barbeque, 2010), and recent works of videos, steel, plastics and glass have focused on the ephemera of the local landscape: (Accidents Near My House, 2010), (Collision, 2011) and (Casual Observation, 2014). The Waterfall / Watergarden project continues this engagement with water and the local landscape, using videos and selected stills to examine water’s fluid and frozen forms.
