Sugarcane farmers in India

In India, the state of Maharashtra is one of the largest contributor in agriculture. Most farmers own farms, where they grow their own crops. But due to uncertainty of produce, some rely on sugarcane harvesting as it provides them a guaranteed income at least during the harvesting season. These photos show the daily routine of these farmers and their working environment. Place - Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. ---- I took these photos during my short visit to India in Jan 2017.
