Where am i?
Sometimes i wonder. If i could teleport you to Ridley road ,on a good day you may ask the same question.
This is the thing i love most about it too.
Ridley road is a strip so diverse, it is exploding with color, culture, language, and food from all corners of the world.. it is in a word.. exotic.
I travel the world regularly, it is a big part of my day job... luckily, i feel blessed for it too.
I never cease to be amazed with the world and its diversity.. i am happiest when lost in a crowd, cannot speak a language, am unable to read the signs.. yet like many i forget to open my eyes when at home.
Oh i have always understood the magic of my own streets, but recently with all the talk of borders, and brexit, these thoughts have intensified, under normal circumstances i would be more interested in portraiture, getting closer up to the person, it is faces i enjoy most i suppose.. but i decided to step back.. take it in, this is a drive by shooting of one road in my neigborhood ..with a couple of wild cards thrown in... but do you know which ones are not London? It is not an in depth study, it's a walk..
While not wanting to get political, i dredd the idea of Brexit and the ramifications of it... i believe travel is a gift, the young especially will feel the smaller world that is looming.
I come from New Zealand, know very well the difficulties of visa's , of the 'island life... I pray it does not really happen...
