Tourism in Myanmar has received a boost in recent years, offering travellers such as myself a glimpse into the lives of its people who live in one of the most isolated countries in South East Asia.
I visited Myanmar with very few ideas of what to expect. What I knew of the country were based on media reports on its volatile political situation, both in the past and at present. Decades of military rule, and ongoing civil unrest and ethnic clashes - how would these forces affect the day-to-day life of the ordinary Burmese?
In this series, I try to capture ordinary Burmese men, women and children, as they go about their business, isolated from my understanding and perception of Myanmar formed prior to my visit.
