In operation since 1905, the Staten Island Ferry transports over 23 million passengers annually across New York Harbor. Used by commuters and tourists, it is the biggest bargain in New York City - free to all. The Ferry operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, making approximately 118 trips each weekday. The Ferry’s 5.2 mile ride offers some of the best views of the City and its people.
