This series of work was created over a period of a few months earlier this year while away in Cornwall and Hampshire. I wanted to explore more detailed parts of the subject matter, the majority being plant forms, with the exception of the rusting gate and the shoreline images. They all represent an abstraction of their greater form, and shows their relationship and evolved exposure to the key elements of the weather. How each subject matter displays a layered effect within the image making it more abstract than real. Exploring the emotional intent of the image from the minutiae view of the subject matter, how it will impact on other viewers who were not present when the image was taken, and who can only guess at the setting of the image. I was interested in exploring the colours captured, some bright and very physical, others more subdued and sensitive, the contradiction between the rusting gate and the fern blowing in the wind. The use of photography to convey almost three dimensional sculptural forms within each two dimensional image.
