Living Rooms

Living Rooms I documented various peoples’ living rooms in Ukraine and Georgia - people who are not wealthy. These living rooms are modest; the furniture is old, often inherited from relatives. Despite this, each room reflects the character of its owner. The rooms have no people in them and the owners did not change their spaces for the shoot. The owners of the rooms are pensioners, young couples, families and single men. The rooms are natural and it is clear that they are not the work of design experts. The personality of the owner shows through, even without the person being present. One feels a bit like a voyeur, looking into someone’s intimate living space.
