The Sensible: Impressions from Copenhagen

This series feature Instagram impressions from Copenhagen made during spring 2017. The series reflect a city through the tangible and the sensible, the visual details and the colours reveal the traces tattooed on its surface by its inhabitants, human and non-human. From the midst of a misty cold spring landscape emerges a city that blooms, the blue skies reflected on its surfaces. The series also have a deeper level, as it is a visual study on how I created a relationship to a place I did not know before. I spent my spring semester as an exchange student in Copenhagen and through walking its streets, sensing the sensible, mostly in the lovely Amager area, the city started to feel more like a home, a sense of belonging emerged through this relationship. From a bit unwelcoming and cold place emerged a city in bloom. The series is shot with Sony Z mobile phone and processed with Instagram app.
