Portraits from the Street, Myanmar - 10 places, 10 portraits, 10 phrases

This year I visited Myanmar, a country that had always enticed me with its intense, vibrant colours. My goal was to meet people, make their portraits, and at the same time capture a sense of place. My only rule was I had to ask to take the portrait - I really wanted to try and connect with people. I learnt 10 burmese phrases, ( not very much!), and people were genuinely delighted that I was trying to speak to them in their language, (though I am sure I sounded pretty funny). It was truly amazing how many doors it opened, and how open people were to being photographed.
