Growing up, as a young girl in the 80s, I hated my freckles. I think most young people did. They were certainly not fashionable back then. The irony is I now love photographing my children's freckles. I think they may be fashionable these days? My children like their freckles. No two faces are freckled the same. Freckles change over time, over seasons. They vary in colour, in size and in texture. They are unique to the individual.
These photos showcase the interplay between the elements within the environment and their freckles. The sea sponge, the sand grains, the water droplets, the flowers, and the rain covered window seem to mimic and continue the texture and patterns of their freckles.
