The Streaming Landscape These images are from an ongoing series started several years ago, titled The Streaming Landscape. To create the images, I use an iPhone and the iPhone’s “panorama” setting to generate the images: riding in trains, buses, cars, or sometimes walking, the iPhone camera tries to capture slices or strips of the world as I pass through it... time/ space/ movement… Photography had always had an interesting (and awkward) relationship to ‘time’, ‘space’, and ‘movement’, but I am convinced that this relationship has fundamentally changed more recently through the use of digital technology and materials. For me, I have become increasingly aware of the degree to which images are ‘constructed’ over ‘time’ and through ‘space’: no longer a decisive moment, each image is a summary of (decisive) moments. For me, this has enabled some of these images to more convincingly depict and represent the experiences we live.
