Tesoro Tallán

In march of 2017, a vicious flooding forced the people of Bajo Piura (in the north of Peru) to leave their homes and their community behind. They abandoned territories they had inhabited since they were the great Tallan nation, an ancestral town that prospered for more than 900 years thanks to their agriculture and fishing expertise, until the conquest of the incas and the posterior arrival of the spaniards. Today, what the water and mud leaves behind after destroying their houses highlights the remains of their ancestral culture, and the timid jump to today’s modernity.
