Portrait of a little girl

I met this girl in a school of Guiné-Bissau. I was making a photographic documentary work for a Portuguese ONG "Mundo a Sorrir". On this occasion I was visiting a school, where children were also taught simple oral health routines by the volunteers of the that ONG. I was photographing, as planned, to document the work that was being done there. This little girl looked so charismatic that she immediately drew my attention. She also looked so sad at the beginning that it was a challenge for me to make her smile. This series of photographs was done one year ago. I hope that all the work that is being done there helps her and all her colleagues to find a better life.
