I love to captures random moments and details of everyday life with a particular emphasis on the light and
shadows, its relation to human and aesthetic of the deterioration in the small town in the Colombian Pacific
called Nuqui in the Department of Choco. The images most of them are in fact random pedestrians, patiently
waiting for events to happen by chance reflects. The philosophy of being “Faithful” to what I see and
searching for surprise and beauty in what would generally be considered common or even ugly. By focusing
on certain parts and details of a light and the contrast in almost every image, includes one single human
figure, which I bring into a dialogue with the shadows’ geometry and volume.
I use images of the spaces as metaphors to describe transition as the sole constant in life and in
betweenness as the primary state of being. There is no beginning, middle and end. we are the ones in
motion. But I now know that I am interested in the play of light and shadow, pattern and motion. It feels that
I am showing others how to look at or see the world in the ways that I do. I look forward to seeing what
comes out of my vision and my camera. Ever since I was a child, I have been continually imagining myself
in the positions of the people around me, again, from curiosity. Allows me to carry on with this practice, to
satisfy these questions. I try to understand my surroundings photographically both when I am traveling but
also while living my everyday life. Wherever I find myself, I try to find something different, even if it is small.
Fundamentally, I believe that the smallest differences can make for a great picture.
