I grew up in a small town north of Detroit. My interest in photography coincided with my learning to drive and spreading my wings beyond the town I grew up in. Like many small town boys I was naturally drawn to the city and not long after I began taking pictures I started exploring the Detroit with my camera. Eventually my photography career gave me an opportunity to work in Detroit. For about twenty years I lived and worked in the city. When I wasn't doing the corporate/industrial work that paid my bills I spent my spare time exploring the backstreets, the industrial landscape, and the little nooks and crannies that intrigued me the most. During that time I also did a fair amount of pro bono work for non profit organizations that provided services to people who lived on the fringe of society, the poor, hungry, homeless, senior citizens. This collection of photographs from roughly 1985-2009 represents a small portion of that work.
