Based on my own personal experience, the common theme of these photographs is the inherent doubt a “visitor” feels when capturing a scene, an object or a person in a foreign country or in his/her own home country after years of living far away as they often remain images divorced from local circumstances. The motives to demonstrate this doubt are windows, curtains (both reveal a little bit but hide much of the life behind them), tourists, and the cemetery after the final curtain comes down on life. The photographs were taken in Hungary and Thailand over the past two years. But whatever their locations are, the images will hopefully convey the “visitor’s” feeling of doubt and will steer up thoughts in the viewer. (Ongoing project)
