I see the collages as reality portals.
From a certain distance they appear to be quite normal architecture photographs. As the viewer gets closer, the picture starts to shift and move, details are not visible because its absolutly overloaded. But after a period of time, the viewer finds new ways to look at the work and becomes able to focus more and more into the details.
This is analog to what our eyes are doing in interaction with the brain. The eyes capture everything they can get and the brain arranges it into a complete setting, which is by then our own reality, based on what we focus and how we arrange it.
