These images are part of the project Outside of Time. The project consists of 26 images in all. The starting point was a load of 30 out-of-date 120 mm rolls of film and an old cheap plastic camera. These technical limitations set the frame for the esthetical expression. Each picture consists of several exposures in layers on analogue film. All prints are made in an analogue darkroom and are not digitally manipulated.
The many layers give a visual expression that alludes to both light and dark experiences of existence. Each picture can hold different places and different moments and thus does not relate to a linear understanding of time. With the use of analogue film several unique moments melt together in the negative emulsion in the same way our memories melt together in our minds.
