Praia da Vitória (Acores)

I grew up in northern Germany and I always feel at home when I hear the screech of seagulls, the wind and the surf, when I smell the sea, when I see the waves, the horizon and the vastness - all of this together is my home for me. In a new place, my first path leads me to the harbour - from there I conquer a city. For the exhibition of the autumn tour of the Leipzig galleries, I combine photographs from the series ORTE.maritim with photographs that have not yet been shown, which make my view of a harbour visible. The port of Praia da Vitoria on the Portuguese Azores island of Terceira is operated as a commercial, fishing and ferry port.
