Combining science and art

I have a background of both science and art qualifications and the idea of using photography to combine them came during a final major project of a photography course. These images show a selection of the scientific principles I have tried to communicate using imagery. I favour the more dangerous techniques, and it's always exciting to look at the back of the camera and see what I've captured. I'm insprired by photographers like Harold Edgerton, Berenice Abbott, Ori Gersht, and Caleb Charland. The background research for this project not only involved looking at the work of other photographers, but also looking at scientific principles, to see which ones would be interesting when represented visually.
