Joy in the midst of Adversity - India

My work is about capturing joyous moments, interaction of children, innocence of childhood, the happiness people feel, nature, day-to-day life and celebrating it. These photos I have taken are of the villagers and families living in the small town of Adalaj in Gujarat State-India. Their traditions, lifestyle, work they do, the families and their children. I wanted to capture the essence of how they live, the rural lifestyle, vibrant Indian colours, rustic tones and how they are happy in-spite of living in adversity in their environment. What I hope to achieve is to bring about awareness of reality in developing nations. I also want to give back to the community and share my moments with them and their moments with their families & friends that they can treasure for generations to come. To see these happy faces and to show other people these faces so that they can also experience the emotion of love, empathy, joy and perhaps be grateful for what we have rather than what we don’t.
