UNTITLED DANCE PROJECT

My current series documents the international dance community at large to remind us of the humanity within our volatile cultural landscape and to explore the importance of communication without words. In a time where we are constantly inundated with divisive rhetoric emphasizing our differences, dance celebrates the complexity of the human spirit, offering more meaningful and powerful messages that resonate no matter who is watching. I want viewers to come face to face with artists whose dedication to excellence and integrity in their form of communication serve as a direct counterpoint to existing socio-political dialog. My project is meant to serve as an evolving chronicle of a community actively working toward inclusivity, diversity and meaningful connection. Dancers possess an innate affinity with the camera and their vitality and passion resonate beautifully through the still image. This ongoing series is an exploration of the dancer's world out of the usual context of studio and stage, providing an emphasis on quiet, reflective moments in time.
