Having grown up on the Lagos mainland during the 90's, and spending 13 years outside of Nigeria, then returning two years ago (in 2015) to Lagos. The “island” (Lekki) as some like to call it, was the the part of Lagos that lay untouched for a long time until sandfilling began some decades ago. It has been growing at a fast pace since (We can argue about vibrance in comparison to other parts of Lagos later). I moved out to Ajah in August of 2017 and decided to get out and photograph Lagos life from this new perspective - the newly built Ajah flyover bridge. This is Lekki, this is Ajah, this is Ado… this is New Lagos.
