Metamorphosis - A project by Vincent Parisi and Samantha Haworth

Metamorphosis is a series of portraits exploring physical and emotional change. The two subjects are initially portrayed in a modern societal context, evoking familiarity yet disconnect. As the images progress, the subjects move further from the familiar and delve deeper into the lush dark tones of the wild. The creation of metamorphosis began as a feeling of disenchantment within a society the artists’ view as out of balance. What began as a conceptual series has evolved into an emotional narrative detailing the artists’ reverence for the monuments of nature. Metamorphosis developed into a positive reaction from societies moral neglect towards the environment. The intimate relationship of the artists provides context for an underlying message of the project; that of resilience, positivity and appreciation.
