I am presenting to you my abstract series “RED” in the hopes that it will be seen by people around the globe and viewed as a message of hope. My goal is to make people aware that no matter where one comes from or where we are in life, we are more alike than not. We all have our angels and demons and our failures and successes. It is how we handle these emotional events in our lives that matters.
Beginning with birth until death each of us is center stage in our own play called LIFE. I hope people viewing my work will take away with them the observation that we are not alone and that it’s never too late to grab the brass ring until the curtain closes on the last scene.
Background on the photos: Each abstract was set up by me, using ordinary objects found around the house. I chose red for the color as it is a stimulant that gives a sense of protection from anxiety and fear, and is associated with passion, love, seduction, anger and violence; each or any combination of which can be present in our lives at one time or another.
In this series I've tried to encompass passion, love, courage, survival, sexuality and acceptance; all garnered from life experiences. Through this endeavor I have been able to gain a new insight into myself which is a gift I did not expect.
