An imagined state in which everything is perfect

An object is balanced, stationary in the air, suspended - no other movement is allowed, there is only one state in which object might become perfect, there is only one state that creates balance. Minimalist and de-contextualised objects create an illusion that floats between reality and dream. The object is transformed into the metaphorical subject and the black space behind it, unknown. A sheet of A4 paper and string through the presence of light become shape and line; photograph and abstraction. These allegorical images work to counter the constricted freedom of thought in an overly bureaucratic society, controlled by seemingly invisible, economic and political forces.
