Honoring and mourning

Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej died after 70 years on the throne in October 2016. The King was important to Thai people; they often called him “the Father of all Thais”. During the year-long mourning period, Thai people nationwide held various activities to show their love and respect for the beloved late King. And before the day of the Royal Cremation Ceremony, tens of thousands spent the night along the procession route and near the cremation site in Bangkok. The photos were taken between April and October 2017.
