Is home defined by your passport? Is home where you want to be, or where you choose to be? Is home where you feel at home? Is home your history and your lineage? Or is home with the people you love most? What if all those places are somewhere else? My idea of home is a multitude of dimensions. Place, people and time, becoming blurred somewhere over the Atlantic.
This ongoing body of work examines the feeling of having two homes on two different continents, each being equal and distinct. Fragments of each are missing in the other, never being complete in either one. The images reflect an interior emotional state: the containment of tranquility and distress in one. Comfort, familiarity, happiness, beauty, and ease; longing, emptiness, grief, burden, and struggle; packed together in one emotion.
