LandEscapes

The aim of this project was to create a number of pictures that refrain from typical concept of landscapes. For this reason the emblematic title of the project itself. It is usually thought that photographs are the culmination of the Renaissance ideal of realism, where this was the attempt to depict a particular subject as truthfully as possible without stylization or artistic conventions. But through this series I want to show the camera's limitation to capture only a fraction, a small portion of the huge world we all live in. By taking a long exposures while rotating 360 degrees on the same spot, I was able to achieve these abstract compositions that let the viewer wonder not only about where the place was, but also about the loss of information about the latter.
