The images shown come from a body of work produced for my MFA Thesis in 2012, a photographic memoir. The images depict the residual anxiety of a dysfunctional familial relationship, specifically a desire to escape evidenced through the actions of fleeing, hiding, and waiting. Using myself as the sole subject while referencing memories of events and emotions, keeps the work personal. Distilling the images to only key components allows the work to be accessible to a broad audience as viewers draw on their own experiences to relate to the images.
