My photographs are made up primarily of found and discarded objects, reused, rearranged and reconfigured searching for understanding to the existential threat to our lifes.
These collections of found objects sit in silence, an irritation beneath a calm demeanour.
Each piece posseses their own unique personal history and individual presence. Their inadvertent markings bear not only wear and tear but also the scars of their personal history.
Placing an object in unfamiliar surroundings can sharpen significance and individuality. Drama is born out of juxtaposition of these objects set in proximity to each other to add mood and metaphor. The cumulative effect of their presence and numbers evokes a sigh or lament. More momento mori than vanitas i try to offer a means for quiet reflection.
