Camerawork and image-making have increasingly become a practice of quiet receptivity for me. I photograph nature, and there, if I sit for a while, my noisy mind will sometimes recede long enough for scale, proportion and reference to loosen in the viewfinder. That's the place I want to photograph from. In that place, unexpected similarities are revealed. The earth and the sky are then the same.
