Café Sperl, Vienna

Vienna’s celebrated Café Sperl opened in 1880 and has been owned by just two families over the past 133 years. Once frequented by Austro-Hungarian aristocrats and generals, it has long been a meeting place for architects, composers and musicians, actors, and writers. Last restored in 1968 by the present owners, the Staub family, it’s slightly worn patina accentuates its historic charm.
