Saliva

“Saliva” tells about time and its constant presence. I am particularly interested in phenomenon of temporality, which is a kind of invisible scar. This set of photographs is my impression about the events that last only for a moment, never to return and also about their witnesses and observers. It is a story about the passing time, but it is not only nature and body that changes, it is also emotions, relationships and states of mind. This project is a confrontation of sings of the past and of the future; sings like objects, environment, or people transformed by time in an unclear way, and being in some kind of state of suspension. These photographs metaphorically confront oppositions like life / death, referring to the cycle of life. Despite the relatively sharp and dynamic meaning of the word “confrontation", pictures in this project show more subtle and gentle perspective and try to focus rather on moments somewhere in between, than on the extremes. It is also a personal story in which time has the most crucial role. It defines the chain of events, and its forms seem to be unusually repetitive and at the same time temporary and elusive. I'm trying to capture something that can never be captured - the only thing that I have access to are splinters, fragments and shadows.
