Father Eric Freed

On New Years Day, Father Eric Freed was found murdered in the St. Bernard rectory. Over the next six days, I covered different aspects of the aftermath of the tragedy. It was the hardest thing I've ever covered. The depth of the loss went to the core of the community. I attended a Sunday mass given by the Bishop Vasa, he spoke about how darkness came over the community but even in the darkest corners of the church light came through. When making my photos, I tried to find that light. Police arrested 44-year-old Gary Lee Bullock on charges of murder, arson, and torture.
