Lonely Twilight

"If love belongs to the poet, and fear belongs to the novelist, then loneliness belongs to the photographer." Olivia Laing My Lonely Twilight Series is named after one of it's single portraits. In the image, a young woman in a bathing suit stands alone on the edge of a field at twilight. The image evokes in me a certain melancholy and loneliness, Certainly the theme of loneliness in art, music and photography is not new. It's as old as Mankind and is reproduced and echoed again and again, a reflection of our personal circumstances. As an artist I often find loneliness, solitude and the theme of modern despondency to be ingredients in my work.
