This series features contemporary Native American portraits providing a glimpse into diverse communities, traditional influences and remarkable stories. The project is about the people in the pictures, what's important in their lives and the stories they wish to tell. In physical exhibits, each portrait is displayed with a text panel, further explaining anecdotes from each of their lives. "Spirit Hawk Eye" is a name which was given by a Native Elder and became synonymous with project as it evolved. The series is an acknowledgement and celebration of the diversity of Native peoples. The portraits include success stories, inspirational people who also follow and promote the ways of their heritage. The sacred ways of the past are adopted and learned for the new way we’re living and the traditional ways are made relevant for modern lives
