Thumbprint
I am interested in exploring the edges and intersections of transformation where one thing moves inexorably to become something else. The human thumbprint on other parts of nature is everywhere as we seek to cohabitate in a variety of environments. Sometimes human impact is ephemeral and fleeting, other times it is permanent or at least very long-lasting. For better or worse we are in a constant negotiation for space and resources within a finite environment. Through my images I hope to heighten our awareness of these intersections and stimulate the dialogue about competing interests by capturing both the awe and the horror. As a desert dweller, I am particularly drawn to the interrelated fragility of flora and fauna to land, water, and air.
