According to many polls these elections will be marked by a high level of abstension: the consequence of the disillusionment around the national politics matured in the past years towards the national politics. Probably this will be the most criticized elections in Italy: after the Nineties (with the phenomenon of Berlusconi) we have lived the anti-politics of Grillo and his Movement 5 Stars. Now we live in a new era of politics: the non-politics, that means a critical disenchantment in the ability of the representative democracy. Photographically speaking it's difficult to portray this situation properly. So I decided to move my gaze in the opposite direction and take the picture of those places that have seen the politics through their militants over the decades. At present I'm travelling with Giuliana De Vivo, a journalist, in different cities to find and photograph the old committee of the political parties and making portraits of young militants. In fact it seem that just half of the young voters will go to the ballot boxes. The following gallery contains portraits of these girls and boys and photos of the insides of the historical committee. We want to tell that digital native generation that will vote for the first time. Yet also in this generation there are some exceptions: young activists who participate in the life of the political parties, attending centers that have often been created before them. We are trying to understand what militancy means to them.
