LARGER THAN LIFE

Image and gender identity have been one of the subjects that has intrigued me. These portraits are from a series entitled "LARGER THAN LIFE" of San Francisco drag queens. After photographing them I transferred them into woven cotton tapestries. Royalty in the past was often imaged into tapestries and I have taken a contemporary process to bring these Queens to this portrait study.
