I photograph people who, while living among us, stand lonely on the outskirts of our society. Roma minority is one of these groups. We have been living side by side for centuries, yet little is known about Roma history, traditions and culture. When we get to know each other better, we will be able to understand and tolerate each other. To diminish prejudice and barriers between us I created a series of portraits of traditional Romany crafts. Roma have lived with us since the 15th century and used to work as blacksmiths, basketmakers, musicians, fortune tellers, kettlesmiths, brickmakers. All submitted photographs were staged.
