The passion for photography appears when I was 16 years old, when my mother gave me an old Praktica. At the beginning, I just wanted to tell what was around me. Then, I decided to learn more and started reading books about technique and aesthetics. I learnt to develop films and print thanks to an uncle.
My first project, when I was 20 and sponsored by the town hall, concerned the historical part of my city, Arzano, close to Naples in Italy.
In 1996, some of my pictures were selected by the Centre for Cinematography in Rome.
My series “Moon Landscape” was awarded the first prize, “le Prix Spécial du Jury”, at the XVI Salon de la Photographie of Paris XI in 2011.
It was, together with my other series “Stolen Identity”, among the finalist works, in 2012, for the “Grand Concours Réponses Photo/ Festival Européen de la Photo de Nu (FEPN)”. It has also been exhibited in Nogent-Le-Roi, at the occasion of the collective exhibition “Rondeurs en Rafale” in April 2012, and in Paris, in November, in the context of the “Mois de la Photo” of the XIV arrondissement.
The series “Fragments of Lost Dialogues” has been officially selected for the Festival Européen de la Photo de Nu d'Arles 2015.
In March 2015, the work has been published on the renowned blog The Eye of Photography and in January 2016 it has been selected and exhibited in Strasbourg, France, during the 6th Rendez-Vous Image Photo-Fair.
In October 2016, the series "Moon Landscape" will be exposed in Paris during the Salon d'Automne, for which it has been officially selected. One of the image of the same series has been showcased at the Tokyo Art Center, in August 2017, on the occasion of the France-Japan Multinational Contemporary Art Exhibition.
In October 2017, the series "Fragments of Lost Dialogue" has been officially selected for the Salon d'Automne 2017 in Paris.
In January 2018, I have been appointed new Sociétaire (member) of the Salon d'Automne.
I often use a medium format camera, a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II. I like photography when it is contemplation, observation, listening. And the heavy Mamiya forces me to take the time I need to think, to look at carefully before taking the picture.
