Blind Leonie

Leonie is a happy girl who likes to laugh and have fun. And she loves unicorns. As stuffed animals or embroidered with sequins on her t-shirt. Leonie loves to touch the shape of these sequined unicorns and feels them through her fingertips. She also loves to play around with 'Barili", her doll with the six Braille points on its belly. Leonie is blind from birth. She is 9 years old and lives together with her parents and siblings in a small village in Northern Germany. The family moved into a new house and Leonie is very proud of her pink paradise. I took this series to capture an insight into the untold life of brave little Leonie - originally planned to collect money and advertise a crowdfunding project.
