After I finished my high school, I joined a shipping company as a sailor so that I could travel and see
the world. I have a Second Officer who taught me how to read the stars and constellations in the sky
and we would encounter dolphins and mesmerizing phytoplanktons (the phytoplanktons light up the
sea with their soft mysterious glow). These incredible experiences are deeply entrenched in my
memories.
These memories lead me to gravitate towards nature in my photography, to seek and capture these
unique encounters and experiences. Working through my process of experiencing nature, I look for
the fabrics of nature. And these often come in interesting patterns and designs that captivates me.
When I engage my subject, I sometime imagine and preconceived the outcome of the image. And
then weaved out the imagination with my camera.
These preconceived images are often a reflection of the deep thoughts and experiences which I
encountered during my escapades to various places.
