A mass wedding in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, sealed the union 1900 couples unable to afford the existing documentation costs in the country. The Yes Day - event name - was organized by the Court of the State of Rio de Janeiro. About 2,400 people boarded free city trains to the Maracanãzinho gym, part of the Macaranã stadium complex, where the final match World Cup 2014 happened.
In these images I seek to show the celebration denied for many years for these people. The are couples who for financial reasons could never legalize marriage, which has considerable cost documentation in Brazil. It is 1,900 couples of all ages and religions that finally may declare who are husband and wife, to society, children and relatives.
