Heavy Rain

In autumn of 2013, a very large forest area in Croatia and Slovenia was struck by a rare natural phenomenon. Due to rain precipitations at particular temperatures that stayed between 0 and 2 degrees celsius, the rain was turning to ice directly on the trees branches, causing the them to brake. The melting of the snow in spring of 2014 showed the devastated forests resembling heavily bombed areas.
