The Atomska Ratna Komanda, better known as Tito's Bunker, is a former nuclear shelter and military command center located in the middle of Bosnian mountains, 5km far from the small city of Konjic. The bunker is horseshoe-shaped and divided into 12 interconnected blocks, covering an area of 6854 square meters. The blocks were setted up to protect and accomodate up to 350 people for almost 6 months in case of a nuclear attack. The construction was kept top secret for over five decades, as the bunker remained a state secret even after the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 90s. Nowadays the bunker turned into a hybrid musem, partly military compound, partly contemporary art space. Since 2011 a biennal contemporary art exhibition is organized into the structure.
