Changing India, one woman at a time

They say: "If you give a woman a handout, you leave her helpless. But if you teach a woman a skill, she will change her world by becoming self-reliant, empowering her to teach this skill to others and one woman at a time, India will change." These are photographs of women helping women in India from SEWA in Amdabad, widows from Ma Dham a Guild of Service shelter house in Vrindavan, Moslem women celebrating the festival of Holi in Jaipur, and women in Varanasi and Udiapur. This collection of photographs were made during a sabbatical.
