Citadel

These pictures were taken on a trip around the UK in 2014 looking at Brutalist architecture. Brutalism, as an architectural style, was popular from the 50's to the 70's especially for institutional and large scale architecture. It was closely identified with socialist ideals and the socially progressive notion that architecture can "fix" the ills of modern society. In these photographs, I am trying to capture the quieter moments in these grand projects.
